The Workplace Leaders Top 50 list has been announced and with the celebration event taking place at London's Hurlingham Club this summer, we sat down with 2026 winner Simon Wrenn, Chief Executive Officer at Kindred.

How did you get into the workplace and FM industry?

I started my first cleaning business aged 19. The rest is history!

What does it mean to you to be recognised as a Workplace Leaders Top 50?

Its incredible to be recognised by your peers in this way. It really is such an honour and I was delighted to hear about it.

What is your favourite part of being in the workplace industry?

Working with such great people is inspiring and rewarding. The community within workplace and facilities means that you're never far from brilliant people.

Tell us an interesting fact that no one knows about you?

I’ve been to the North Pole 3 times!

If you weren’t working in the workplace or FM industry, what would you be doing?

I can’t really imagine working in a different industry altogether, I think I could work in difference areas of of FM, but fundamentally, a service focussed business is where I belong.

What does it take to be a workplace leader?

I’m not sure I am qualified to answer this one!

All I have tried to do is provide the best service I can, and encourage everyone around me to deliver to the best of themselves, whilst always trying to increase their abilities.
